10 Tips for Everyday Memory Keeping

Stampin' Up! released a video yesterday... if you haven't seen it yet I am sharing it here.  It's a video with Becky Higgins sharing her 10 tips for everyday memory keeping. However you choose to capture your photos, these tips are super helpful and inspirational.  I will let Becky share the tips...and after you watch and learn... scroll down a bit and find some really awesome products to help you display your favorite memories.

Project Life by Stampin' Up!

Remember the way our parents and grandparents stored their photos? The albums with the sticky gunk that held the photos in place and a clear acetate sheet that covered it...  Eventually, the sticky stuff was replaced by albums with pockets - 4x6 with three or 4 per page.  Occasionally you could find an album with pages that held both landscape and portrait photos. Otherwise, you have to turn the photo album to view the different photos... awkward and annoying.

If you are not into traditional scrapbooking because of the amount of time it takes... you may find the Project Life system - pocket scrapbooking - is more to your liking.  Project Life is a simple system for organizing your photos into albums. A few basic products are all you need to get started, so you can spend more time living and less on memory-keeping.

Stampin' Up! combines both worlds  by bringing a line of stamps, exclusive Project Life card collections and accessory packs, and their infamous color coordination system into the mix.

Mustang Monday - Meet Mint Macaron

Welcome back friends. The focus color this week is Mint Macaron, another of the brand new 2015-2017 In-Colors. And take a look at what I found online - our very own Mint Macaron Mustang! This 1965 Mint Green Mustang was shared by levispell on MadWhips website for the World's Hottest Cars.  Look how so very close the car color matches to my bookmark!  It's a win for sure!

Mint Macaron is already proving to be one of the most popular of the new in-colors. Each month I participate in a team swap where I receive about 16 different creative cards from 16 different team members. This month, I received a BUNCH of cards using Mint Macaron. Some of which I will share here, but first, lets look at how Mint Macaron compares to other Stampin' Up! colors.

I used the two-step flower from the retired Mother's Love stamp set to create this comparison. What colors would you pair with Mint Macaron to create a monochromatic card?

Here are a couple of cards that I created - the first one is from my team meeting in Kansas City - it matches the one from last week.  The second one is a sympathy card I gave to my Aunt last week. My mom's brother passed away - he had cancer and was on hospice for only about 3 weeks. He was a great man and will be missed by many.

The "Trust" card above was created by Deb Mathine. She used the tree builder punch, Layered Letters Alphabet set for the word "Trust", and You've Got This for the sentiment.

Another swap card using You've Got This stamp set. Unfortunately, my team mate only put her email address on the insert and I don't want to share that info so I am unable to give proper credit.

This swap card was created by Debra Heald. She used Gorgeous Grunge and Something To Say stamp sets. I LOVE that heart in the middle. Something to Say is a great sentiment set with a variety of uses. It pairs with the Itty Bitty Accents punch pack. The Dotted Lace Trim is the specialty trim created just for the 2015-2017 In-Colors - you can get it in all 5 colors - Mint Macaron, Tip Top Taupe, Cucumber Crush, Delightful Dijon, and Watermelon Wonder.

Love, love, love this card - it makes me hungry for mint chocolate chip and chocolate ice cream! Joy Barkofske created this swap card using Mint Macaron and Chocolate Chip with the Sprinkles of Life stamp set. The Sprinkles of Life stamp set is our Ronald McDonald House Charity stamp set. This lovely stamp set has 22 stamps and coordinates perfectly with the Tree Builder punch.

This final swap was created by Julie Sperman using the Build a Birthday stamp set and Dotted Lace Trim in Mint Macaron.

I hope you enjoyed today's look at Mint Macaron and all the really amazing swaps I received. The new catalog has many more amazing NEW stamp sets - I am so looking forward to the next year! If you haven't gotten a look at the new catalog yet, download your very own digital copy by clicking on the link in the side bar.
